About This Piece

Vintage Design

This leather covered walking stick or umbrella stand was acquired in France. Various materials have been applied. The stand is made of wenge wood and features leather pieces with leather stitching on the front, sides and top. The back is also covered with leather. Finished with black plastic edges on the front and back. The stand is lined on the inside with a thick kind of red-coloured paper and on the inside top edge with faux veneer. Equipped with a removable zinc drip tray. In good, original condition. Normal traces of age and use. Dating: 1960s. Origin North Africa (Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco). Weight approx. 7 kg.
