Décolletée unique piece by Frederic Mulatier 2020 Unique Dimensions: H 35 x P 40 x l 42 Materials: Terracotta wicker A legend that I thought I had written: The story of the first pottery, born of chance and the meeting of earth and basketry. The legend Our very distant ancestors made baskets, baskets, useful for their picking. By dint of being put down and placed again on the ground, their basketwork was lined with mud and earth. Noticing that once dry this clay obscured their work, they used these first containers of plants and earth to protect their reserves from light, cold, ... from the outside. Then the fire appeared ... A basket, smeared with earth found itself near the flames. The first pottery was born. Our ancestors quickly understood the usefulness of this terracotta. Basketry associated with chance and human ingenuity had allowed this birth ... Archaeological Truths from reading to meeting, it became evident that "my" legend was not one. Magali Cullin, researcher at the CNRS sent me a number of documents and scientific studies attesting or relating the original reality which linked, at certain times and in several parts of the world, weaving and the earth.
