The president is seen in profile, up to his shoulders, against a dark, uniform background. The presentation is characterized by a painterly nature and a good capture of the individual features of the model. The portrait is gilded and signed: GEORGE WASHINGTON.

George Washington (1732-1799) is one of the most important figures in American history. He was a general and politician, deputy to the Continental Congress, and above all, the first president of the United States. He is considered the father of the American people.
