About This Piece

Vintage Design

Fireplace garnish with rectangular and molded base, in brocctela cherry and mauve marble, including a rotor clock.
This one is summoned with a bronze sculpture with brown patina, signed Adolph Maubach on the terrace, representing a young violinist in overseas, sporting a long cape and holding in his hands his violin.
Adolphe Maubach is a French sculptor from the 19th century. He is known for his allegorical and fanciful subjects, and is the author of the monument to Marc Seguin in Tournon-sur-Rhône, the inventor of the tubular boiler.
This garnish also has two vases, in patinated bronze, with burst colors.
The latter are adorned with acanthus leaves, foliage, shells and two heads of chimeras as a handle.
The bases are based on small dullded toupied feet.
This violinist, witness of the hours, will be able to touch you with the meticulous work of the artist.
