About This Piece

Vintage Design

Bétel box in rejected silver, Burma, late 19th or early XXth.
The contours are chiseled and decorated with animals in cartridges, the base and the summit are slightly flared.
The lid, which descends almost to the base, is decorated as a pushed, perhaps like a mandala, stupas whose stylistics is related to the loops of certain sculptures of Buddha heads.
The background decorated with a lotus.
