Gold Brooch with Quartz and Wildflower Motif, Austria-Hungary, 1922

About This Piece

A unique antique brooch from Austria-Hungary from the late 19th century. A complete set of hallmarks has been preserved on the reverse of the brooch - a fox head hallmarked in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in the years 1872-1922 and the letter P on the pin - denoting the Assay Office in Budapest. Centrally set in a golden form, a quartz in which an illustration of wild flowers in a vase was hand-made and painted, to which the transparency and cabochon cut of the quartz give a three-dimensional impression. The quartz is surrounded by a delicate halo of 10 diamonds with a total weight of 0.20 ct. The purchase is accompanied by a jewelry certificate from a diamond appraiser.
