Two boxing men, Franz Hagenauer, Werkstatte Hagenauer Wien, ca. 1970, brass nickel-plated, marked As spectators of this boxing scene, we can excitedly watch as one of the boxers just barely dodges his rival’s punch. The lively movements and active postures of the two fighters create a dynamic image overall. With their body height of over 1.6”, they are spectacularly staged. Made of high-quality chiseled brass, the elaborate Art Déco sculpture appears particularly noble. Skillfully, the Hagenauer Werkstatte creates a reduced and stylized design, as it is quite characteristic for their creative development in the 1970s. marked with “wHw” in the circle, “MADE IN/AUSTRIA”
