Good conditions except for yellowing of paper (especially along the margins), and very light foxings on lower part of paper. The print was realized by Johann Jacob Weber and it's part of the series Meisterwerke der Holzschneidekunst (original title: SECHZEHN HOLZSCHNITTE NACH GEMÄLDEN ARNOLD BÖCKLIN (MEISTERWERKE DER HOLZSCHNEIDEKUNST, NEUE FOLGE HEFT V) printed in 1898 and dedicated to Arnold Böcklin. The series containing xylographs that represent some of the most famous paintings of Arnold Böcklin. Printed by J.J. Weber, Leipzig. Original title of artwork: Centaur in der dorfschmiede. The title is printed on lower right corner. This black and white xylograph represents a smith doing shoeing to a hoof of a centaur. The scene is set open air, in a smithy; on the background, a little group of people is watching the scene. This artwork is shipped from Italy. Under existing legislation, any artwork in Italy created over 70 years ago by an artist who has died requires a licence for export regardless of the work’s market price.
