Brutalist ceramic by Louis Giraud Vallauris, France, 1950s. Decorative Vallauris ceramics as a candlestick, vase or centerpiece, dark brown, almost black in tone with a subtle iridescent appearance, and finished in shiny vitrified enamel. Space and futuristic style. Very much in the style of Nordic and Scandinavian ceramics from the mid-20th century, and Scheurich's German enamelled creations from the 60s and 70s.
