Bronze statue of the Discobole de Myron from the 50s / 60s

Of great finesse and good bill, this solid bronze statue is really superb.

This "disk launcher", usually attributed to the artist Myron is one of the most famous statues of antiquity.

She represents an athlete starting the disc.

Myron was famous for his representations of athletes, which explains the attribution. In addition, this work is mentioned by Pliny the former in its natural history, where the author delivers the list of works made by Myron, representative of the first classicism.

Many more or less successful replicas have been produced during the centuries.

The one we offer is in bronze with a patina in green gray and presents some traces of oxidation that are an integral part of its charm.
Dating back to about the 50s, she had to have several owners. When we chiné it, she sat outdoors on a stone base.
Time has therefore made its effect on this beautiful statue that has small snacks. Note a small hole on a thigh and a more important arm. Faults that first be forgotten when the statue is in a situation.

Large, she will have a place of choice in your decoration and will stop attracting.
